Short Courses
Strengthening Mineral Resource Governance with A Management System for Mine Reconciliation
Level: Introductory
Facilitators: Heath Arvidson, K2fly
HALF DAY – Saturday, October 19, 08:30 to 12:30
Mine reconciliation is the art and science of comparing predictions and real-world outcomes with the intent of revealing the true quality of performance of models, planning, mining, and mineral processing. When mine reconciliation is conducted in a systematic, transparent, and sustainable way it can play a central role in the governance of Mineral Resource and Mineral Reserve (MRMR) estimation and reporting.
Attendees at this half-day workshop will learn why mine reconciliation is critical for Mineral Resource Governance, what principles and enablers are essential for success and how to establish an iterative process that delivers transparency and continuous improvement of modelling, planning, mining, and mineral processing practices.
The course is delivered via a series of short, sharp presentations, engaging interactive exercises and open discussions. Relevant technical papers and materials will be shared with all attendees.
